GOD KNOWS BEST

One day a local evangelist bragged during a crusade that his God was more able than all the other gods in the town and the powers of the universe that the villagers worshiped put together.
Just then, rainstorm sounds started sounding overhead, threatening the progress of the crusade.
The evangelist lifted up his voice and declared with confidence that if the rains fell, then he wasn't a man of God; he would stop preaching!
Before he could finish his bluff, the rains began to hit the crusade grounds so vehemently, apparently in disregard to his declarations.
The whole town left the crusade grounds to their houses, shaking their heads in disappointment and dismay.
The evangelist, so distraught and angry, packed his belongings and left the town the next day.
On his way through the next town, he checked into a local drinking spot and drank himself to stupor.
As he lay on the ground cursing God, an old seedy looking man tapped him gently on the shoulder."Man of God", the old man began.
But the evangelist quickly cut in, "don't mention the name of God to me. He is fake. He is unreliable. I am no longer a believer in this God.
A God who chooses to disgrace his servants. Leave me alone!"
But the old man would not let him be. He continued, “I am the fetish priest in the village you just preached at.
During your one week stay in that village, you destroyed all the charms I had made on the people for 45 years.
Your prayers and your words always came with some fearful fire and power. I tried so many times to eliminate you but I couldn't. My last chance came yesterday.
I had loaded my gun with gun powder lying wait on the mountaintop where I had a very clear view of you. My plan was to shoot you from a distance since I couldn't get close enough to you due to the fire around you.
But just when I lifted the gun, the rains came from nowhere, wetting my gunpowder and covering you in a cloud so that I couldn't even see you.
All I saw was a bright man holding a sword in front of you. I was so terrified.
I concluded that your God was indeed all powerful and Almighty. That is why I’ve been looking for you since then. I want to follow this your God!"
The ex-evangelist bowed his head in shame!
Reflection:
Dear friends, sometimes, it is just wise for us to believe that our Father knows the way He is taking us. We should just trust His leading.
Let our boast be in the Lord, not in ourselves. If we decree a thing and it doesn't happen, let us not see it as disappointment or dishonor from the Father.
Let us just believe that the Father wants His perfect will to be done in all things.

Prayer for new week

God will put an end to all forces that are wasting your efforts. Your results will exceed your
expectations. Everyone that has laughed at you will come back to laugh with you in Jesus Name

The hand of God will rest on you. He will keep you, in your going and coming. He will prosper you in all your endeavors and position you for signs and wonders in Jesus name. You will do exploits, go and rock the world by the power of overflowing greatness. Peace! J

How To Stop Letting Avocados Get Brown!

Today: Avocados are too good and too expensive to let fall to the wayside. Here are three of the best methods to keep avocados green, longer.
Stop Letting Avocados Get Brown!
Much like tomatoes, when we slice an avocado open to eat, we usually aren’t gunning to devour the whole fruit in a single meal. There’s a critical point at which crisp toast can’t take another dollop of mushed avocado, salad greens can’t support another creamy slice, and we have to tackle the conundrum of keeping an unused avocado half as green as possible until our next meal.
The most common piece of advice is to leave the pit in the avocado half, or rather, use the pitted half first. However, while the parts of flesh that are in contact with the pit stay fresh, the rest of the avocado easily browns. This is simply because the pit is blocking air from reaching part of the flesh. So, to keep the exposed avocado from browning, we have to mimic what the pit does and create alternative barriers. Though avocado halves will always brown to some degree, the following methods kept the fruit green, longer.
The Onion MethodRoughly chop a quarter of a red onion into large chunks. Line the bottom of a sealable container with the onion pieces, then place the avocado half cut side-up on top. Seal the container and keep in the fridge. According to The Kitchn, this is likely due to the vapors that onions emit. Luckily, because the skin is the only part of the avocado in contact with the onion, the flesh won’t take on any flavor. And you can save the onions for later use!
The Olive Oil MethodBrush the avocado half with olive oil (pick one without a strong flavor). The oil will keep the flesh from coming in direct contact with the air, preventing oxidization. After brushing with the oil, store the avocado in an airtight container in the fridge.
The Lemon Juice MethodYou can also brush your avocado’s flesh with lemon juice — the citric acid in the lemon juice dramatically slows the browning process. Again, store in an airtight container for extra protection.

Godly Virtues, Please

TEXT: 2 KINGS 14:1-7
Key Verse: “And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did” (2 Kings 14:3).
A song writer, while imploring Christians to build a godly legacy with their lives, wrote: ‘While passing through this world of sin, and others your life shall view, be clean and pure without and within. Let others see Jesus in you. Your life is a book before their eyes. They are reading it through and through. Do others see Jesus in you?”
Our text reflects the impact and the influence of Amaziah’s father on him. This underscored the importance of paying attention to the type of influence which we should, either overtly or covertly, have on those that draw inspiration from us. It is obvious that king Joash influenced Amaziah much more than any other person. Parents, guardians, teachers and other stakeholders, who have the responsibility of mentoring children and the upcoming generations, should be conscious of the enormity of the task God has placed on them.
Amaziah started well, but he did not finish well. He was not as good a king like David, his ancestor. He did what his father, Joash, did by not removing the places where people worshipped on the high hills. Also, he killed, as a legal punishment, those officials who had murdered his father. He did not kill their children however, just to obey the laws of Moses (Deuteronomy 24:16).
So, we should know that every child is a delicate little person. He is an individual who is capable of growing at his own pace, having his own personality, his own intelligence, aptitude and temperament. He grows up physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually. He is an imitator, very observant and sensitive to what is happening around him.
All stakeholders, therefore, owe it a responsibility to the larger society to ensure their comportment, actions and inactions are geared towards building an enduring godly heritage that can help upcoming generations.
Thought for the day: Godly virtue is better than reputation.

Prayer for new week

It is God who gives power to make wealth. He will bless you on every side. Like Isaac, you shall dig in times of scarcity and profit in spite of famine, In the face of famine, you will have abundance. The favour of God will increase you on every side.

You will prosper and become a blessing to your generation in Jesus name. Nobody can stop the wind from blowing. Whoever that tries to stop your Joy and Progress, God will destroy their powers in Jesus name.J
