Don’t Ever Use Turmeric With Some Other Medications

Turmeric is an extremely beneficial natural ingredient, which is believed to be an alternative cure for numerous different illnesses. Namely, as its use has fewer side-effects, it is often advised as a natural variant of medications and drugs.
However, in some rare cases, turmeric can cause severe negative effects on the health, if used excessively, or if combined with certain drugs.

dont-ever-use-turmeric-if-youre-on-any-of-the-following-medications
When referring to turmeric, people usually think of the ground-up root of this plant, which has been used as a culinary spice, as a medicine, and in ceremonies in India for more than four millennia.
Numerous studies have proven the health benefits of turmeric, even though not all of them are scientifically backed- up.
Most of its properties are due to its active ingredient, curcumin, which has been found to have powerful anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-thrombotic properties.
Due to its beneficial action, numerous people use turmeric in combination with other medication, or as an alternative to their prescribed drugs. This is mostly due to their wish to avoid the negative effects and complications of the excessive use of pharmaceuticals.
However, turmeric can be dangerous if taken in combination with some specific drugs, and may cause harmful and severe side-effects.
Sometimes, its most advantageous properties may become dangerous if combined with drugs. Thus, its anti-thrombotic property which reduces blood clots may endanger the health if combined with blood-thinning medicines, like aspirin, warfarin (Coumadin, or clopidogrel (Plavix). Namely, their combination actually boosts the effect of the blood-thinning drugs and thus raises the risk of bleeding.
Turmeric also interacts with diabetes medications, which reduce the blood sugar. Namely, it boosts their effect, and thus elevates the risk of low blood sugar. As a result, you may experience numerous side –effects, like blurred vision, delirium, impaired cognitive function, anxiety, and shakiness.
The consumption of turmeric may also lead to allergic reactions, such as outbreaks like rashes or hives, and may even cause shortness of breath and anaphylaxis.
Furthermore, turmeric should not be combined with drugs that reduce stomach acid, as the body will actually increase its production of stomach acid, and thus, lead to nausea, stomach pain, bloating, and esophagus damage.
These drugs which lower the stomach acid include Omeprazole, Famotidine (Pepcid), Cimetidine (Tagamet), and Ranitidine (Zantac).

Therefore, if you take turmeric at the same time as some drug or medicine, or in case you experience some allergic reaction, you should replace it with some other natural alternative, or reduce the amount of turmeric you consume.

You need to read this

My request is that pls read this and get your children also to read it.
One young man went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.
He passed the initial interview, and now would meet the director for the final interview.
The director discovered from his CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent.
He asked, Did you obtain any scholarships in school...?
the youth answered "NO".
Who paid for your school fees...?
" Parents ", he replied.
"Where did they work......?"
"They worked as clothes cleaner.”
The director requested the youth to show his hands.
The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.
"Have you ever helped your parents wash the clothes ?"
"Never, my parents always wanted me to study and read more books.
Besides, my parents can wash clothes faster than me.
The director said, "I have a request.
When you go home today, go and clean your parents hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.
The youth felt dejected.
When he went back home, he asked his parents to let him clean their hands.
His parents felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings,
They showed their hands to their son.
The youth cleaned their hands slowly.
His tear fell as he did that.
It was the first time he noticed that his parents hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in their hands.
Some bruises were so painful that they winced when he touched it.
This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fees.
The bruises in the hands were the price that the parents had to pay for his education, his school activities and his future.
After cleaning his parents hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for them.
That night, parents and son talked for a very long time.
Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.
The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, when he asked:
"Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house....?"
The youth answered,
I cleaned my parents hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'
“I now know what appreciation is.
Without my parents, I would not be who I am today...
By helping my parents, only now do I realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done on your own And I have come to appreciate the importance and value of helping one’s family.
The director said,
"This is what I am looking for in a manager.
I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life.”
“You are hired.”
A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop an "entitlement mentality" and would always put himself first.
He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts. By Funmi.
If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying our children instead...?
You can let your child live in a big house, eat a good meal, watch on a big screen TV.
But when you are cutting grass, please let them experience it.
After a meal, let them wash their plates and bowls together with their brothers and sisters.
It is not because you do not have money to hire a maid, but it is because you want to love them in a right way.
You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will grow grey, same as the parent of that young person.
The most important thing is your child learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done...
Try to forward this story to as many as possible...this may change somebody's life/attitude.

'Time Zone', I can't be too fast or too slow

Dubai is three hours ahead of Nigeria,

but it does not mean that Nigeria is slow, and it
does not mean that Dubai is faster than Nigeria.
Both countries are working based on their own
"Time Zone."

Some one is still single..Someone got married
and 'waited' ten years before having a child,
there is another who had had a baby within one
year after marriage. Everyone is working in their
"Time Zone "
Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited
5 years before securing a job; and there is
another who graduated at the age of 27 and
secured employment just after national service.
Everyone is working in their "Time Zone "
Joyce Meyer started her own ministry at age 41
and still alive today at 71 years old. She is
working in her "Time Zone "
Someone became CEO at the age of 25 and died
at the age of 50 while another became a CEO at
the age of 50 and lived to 90 years.
Everyone worked based on their 'Time Zone'..
Some people have everything that work fast for
them. Work in your "Time Zone" and pray for
God's direction.
Brethren, God has designed us for a particular
purpose that is different from the other person.
God allows things to happen at His own time.
Your Time Will Come.
Colleagues, friends, associates, younger one(s)
might "seem" to go ahead of you. Don't envy
them, it's their 'Time Zone.'.
Yours is coming soon. Hold on, be strong, stay
focused stay in faith and stay true to yourself. All
things shall work together for your good. You’re
not late… you’re on time!
God Bless you. I hope it blesses you! Ecclesiastes 9:11. By Funmi

3 BIBLICAL TRUTHS YOU SHOULD KEEP CLOSE DURING HARD TIMES

It’s been more than a year since the day when my mother was diagnosed with cancer. It’s been more than a year of doctor visits, treatments, and paying hospital bills. Despite all these pains and struggles, I also realize that it’s been more so God’s overflowing provision, grace, love, and faithfulness to my mom and our entire family.
Sometimes, when we’re in the heat of trials, it’s extremely difficult to see the hand of God in our lives. It’s tougher to believe that He even cares about what we’re going through. It’s a challenge to hold on to His promises to deliver and rescue.I know this very well. I’ve felt this way again and again as I was attending to all of my mother’s needs and trying to figure out how in the world will we be able to pay the staggering medical bills. But looking back to the past 14 months, I realize God has been with us every step of the way (and He still is with us today and in the days to come).
I don’t know what you’re going through today. For all I know, it may even be worse than cancer. Despite how grave the situation can be, let me tell you three reasons you should place your hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.1. He has overcome the world.
I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)
As believers and followers of Jesus Christ, He has set our expectations about how our life in this world will be like. He didn’t promise us a life free from problems and sorrows. He clearly stated that we will have trouble for as long as we live in this fallen world. But despite that, He has overcome all of our troubles, tears, failures, fears, heartaches, pain, burdens, and shame. Thus, we have overcome them too.
2. He left us His peace.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27)
Before Jesus died on the cross in our place, He left us His peace. Since He lived in this world as a man and was tempted as a man too, He very well knew how difficult it was to live with temptation surrounding us. He can sympathize with us because He was once in our shoes. He knew how much we needed His peace so He gave it to us even before we asked for it. What a mighty God, right?
3. He sent us the Helper.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever.  (John 14:16)
Jesus knew the troubles of this world would be too much for us to bear, so He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and be with us. The Holy Spirit, the Comforter, will teach us all things (John 14:26). This assures us of wisdom from above even in the midst of trying times. Jesus will direct us the way we should go so we will never be lost, if we’ll only heed His voice.
Christ didn’t only die for us. He also rose from the dead after three days. And for that, no matter how impossible our situation is, we should take heart. We should always place our hope in Christ.

5 Things We Miss When We Worry about thing of life

Women worry, it’s a fact, as a woman you know that you worry about multiple things. Looking after the children, having dinner ready for your husband, do you look good in that dress?, Is she prettier than you?, … I could literally go on forever because there are so many things that make you worry. As women I think we are incline to worry a little bit more than men. How do we manage to get anything done, right?
When we live in a state of worry we lose out on the promises of God, we miss things and we end up an anxious mess, it’s almost like it is contagious, once you start worrying about one thing you end up worrying about everything. As a child of God you are promised so much more than that. Jesus died so that you could live life to the fullest, that means being certain of things but sometimes understanding that you as a woman cannot control everything. Sometimes you have to give over control to God and watch what He does.Cast your burdens upon Jesus and don’t miss out on these things that God has blessed you with:
1)    The Beauty of Today
The Bible says, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. When you are too busy worrying about the future your mind is there and you miss the beauty of the moment – Live in today! (Matthew 6:34)
2)    The Holy Spirits prompting

We are supposed to be led by the spirit, it’s our inheritance as son and daughters of God. He was sent as the great counselor when we are not paying attention we will miss the things he is guiding us to do. (Romans 8:14)

3)    Peace
When we are worrying we are not being faith filled, when Jesus left to be seated in heaven He told us that He was leaving His peace with us here, for us to have. When we are not praying about issues and submitting them to God this means He cannot fill us with His Peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that no matter what is happening on the outside our hearts are still and full of Joy. (John 14:27)
4)    We are less thankful
When you are constantly worrying you take the little things for granted like being safe, having food on the table, being blessed with a job etc… You find it difficult to be grateful for the little things or even the big things because you are too busy worrying about other issues. The Bible tells us to pray about everything and in every situation GIVE THANKS.
5)    Gods is Sovereign
If you are worrying you are missing who God really is, what He is capable of and what He promises us. He is all powerful and nothing is too big for Him, we need to start telling our problems how big our God is, not our God how big our problems are! (2 Corinthians 13:4) source here.

DO YOU WANT THE CHEQUE OR YOU PREFER THE CASH

A friend of mine narrated the story of what transpired among herself, her mother, and her brother and I learnt quite some lessons that I thought of sharing with you today. I am sure you could pick up some more lessons to share with us in the comment box. She went to her mum recently and there she saw her brother also visiting. After they had had all the interesting conversations, her brother was about leaving and decided to give some money to his mum. When he reached out to his pocket, he realised he had only GHC 500 which was far less than what he thought to give the mum. So, he took his cheque book, and signed an amount of GHC 2000 for the mother. When he gave the cheque to the mum, she refused taking it because she didn't want the cheque but the cash. However, the cheque was four times more than the cash he had with him. My friend, the woman's daughter, told her not to bother about the cash because the value of the cheque was far more and it wouldn't take her long to cash it. She still persisted. The mother then said, "I need money to buy items and not a cheque." I picked three lessons from the story.
1. She was ignorant of the value of the cheque
All the mother was interested in was the cash. She cared less how much the cheque had for her. Many times in life, we are ignorant of the value we carry as humans. We are ignorant of how valuable our talents, gifts, ideas, potential, etc. are. As such, we tend to reach out for the cheap things of life, rather than taking the pain to assess the worth of the value we carry. If she had been patient enough to know that the cheque had more for her than the physical cash, she wouldn't have opted for the cash. Do you know what you carry? Are you reaching for the "cheque" or you're going for the "cash"?
2. Self-gratification
I am sure she must have had a mental map of how long it would take her to go cash the cheque before getting the money she needed as against the option of going for the physical cash from her son. She wanted it quickly. Many of us young people today cannot wait for the promise of tomorrow. We want it all now. We will rather jump in for a job than take the pain of growing a thriving business; we would rather jump into a "hit and run" relationship than take the time to start and nurture a great love relationship. Today, most of us want quick money; no wonder we are witnesses to all the vices we see today. The greatest people of history aren't those who are short-term-minded. They are generational thinkers. The interesting thing is that, sometimes their dreams never come to pass in their lifetime; but they do well to sow the seeds to germinate into a mighty tree that would provide shade for the coming generation. Nothing kills potential than self-gratification. We see this clearly in the story of Jacob and Esau. If Esau could have waited just an hour to prepare a meal for himself, he wouldn't have sold his birthright for a bowl of lentils.
3. She refused to take advice
One of the greatest things that could cost you is when you think you know it all and refuse to take advice. No human, not one, is self-made. Everyone you see doing one thing or the other has gotten to wherever they are because of the advice they got from others which they assessed and if it was good, they used it to get better. Of course not every advice is good. You have to be wise to know which is good and bad. As we reach out for greater things, we would need advice from our parents, mentors, and others to make wise decisions. The fact that you're a boss doesn't mean you can't take advice from your "subordinates". It is sheer pride to refuse taking advice because you think you know it all.
4. Broaden your Horizon
The mother was ready to receive the physical cash perhaps because that was all she needed at the time to push her business. It could also mean that she had become "content" with the level of progress in her business. If perhaps she had bigger dreams of expanding the business, she would have considered carefully the other option of taking the cheque and not the cash. In life, as you climb the ladder of progress, you cannot afford to remain at your old position; you must move to higher heights. You must assess opportunities to expand. You must broaden your horizon and not be limited in your thinking.

5. Risk Taking

The mother was scared of the risk involved in cashing the cheque at the bank. All she thought was the time she will spend at the bank; having to stay in the winding queue. She felt she must have used that time to do something "more profitable." But what she failed to see in the bigger picture was the fact that "wasting" about two or three hours at the bank to cash the cheque would mean that she'll get four times the physical cash--an amount she might not be able to raise as profit over a period of say, two weeks or a month, considering taking the cash of 500 cedis. There are risks in life and one must assess their pros and cons to be able to take them.
6. Choices
The son knowing very well that he has purposed in his heart to give 2000 but was left with the choices of giving her the physical cash of 500 cedis and a cheque of 2000 cedis. However, he presented these two choices to the mother. The mother was torn between these choices.

Life is similar. Life will present you with choices and you will have to make the right choice out of the lot. People are going to leave you with choices and again, you must be the one to make the right choices.

You must present yourself with choices too and choose the best and right one(s) out of the lot. This could be called "creativity."
So, there are my three lessons from a simple narration from a friend. I am sure you've learnt something. My question to you, however is, in your daily, weekly and yearly endeavours, DO YOU WANT THE CHEQUE OR YOU PREFER THE CASH? Bro Jona

Health: Raw vegetables grown at your home

Without doubt, raw vegetables grown at your home can bring a number of benefits more than the bought ones from the grocery.
Even though it requires some time, the benefits you will feel are numerous. You will save your money and you can grow them indoors, you do not need to have a farm.
Use fresh scraps, and when re-growing the plants, ensure they have enough light and water.
1. Romaine Lettuce
Use the bottom of a lettuce head to grow new romaine lettuce. Put stumps of the romaine lettuce in a ½ inch water. After a few days, once new leaves and roots appear, transplant the romaine lettuce into soil. The leaves can grow up to twice the size. The same procedure can be done for
 re-growing cabbages.
 2. Bok Choy
Place the Bok Choy’s root ends in water in a well- lit area. After 1-2 weeks, transplant them to a pot that has soil, and a new head will grow.
3. Carrots
Carrot greens can be re-grown from carrot tops, you only need to put them in a dish with little water, and place the dish in a room that is well-lit or on a window sill. Although carrot greens are a bit bitter, if you chop them up together with garlic and sweeten with vinegar, they can add great flavor to your salads.
4. Basil
In order to re-grow your new basil plant, you should use basil cuttings. Put ones that have stems of 3-4 inches in a glass of water, and place them in direct sunlight. When the roots get to 2 inches long, transfer them to pots. With time, they will grow into full basil plants. Change the water constantly in order to avoid getting slimy basil plants.
5. Cilantro
If you place the stems of cilantro in a glass of water, they will grow. When the roots become long enough, transplant them to a pot with soil. Place them in a room with ample lighting and in a few months, your new plants will be fully grown.
6. Celery
Use the leftover celery bottom to re-grow your new celery plant.  Cut the base off and place it in a shallow bowl or saucer in the sun. The leaves will thicken and grow with time in the middle of the base. After three days, transfer it to soil.
7. Garlic
Garlic sprouts can be grown from the garlic clove. New garlic sprouts will have a milder flavor, and can be used as an addition to your salads, pasta, salads and other dishes. When they begin to sprout, you should place them in a glass with little water.read here.
8. Scallions
Re-grow scallions using their discarded roots. Leave an inch of the scallion attached to the root, put them in a glass of water and place it in a room that’s well-lit.

Say Goodbye to Wrinkles and Sagging Facial Skin with Coconut Oil and Baking Soda!

Today, we will reveal the recipe of an amazing natural mixture that will deeply clean your pores and help you get rid of blackheads and acne. This combination will also exfoliate your skin, remove excess dirt, and eliminate redness, acne, and scars. Incredible!
say-goodbye-to-wrinkles-and-sagging-facial-skin-after-washing-it-with-coconut-oil-and-baking-soda
It contains two incredible efficient ingredients, baking soda and coconut oil. Sodium bicarbonate is a powerful and versatile ingredient that can be used in numerous various ways. It is used in the preparation of homemade baked goods, for household uses like deodorizing and polishing agent, as well as for cleaning, instead of harmful and toxic household cleaners.
Despite this, baking soda is used as a cosmetic product for hair, teeth, and skin. It is amazing in the treatment of acne, as it is an amphoteric compound and thus balances the pH balance of the skin and prevents their occurrence since pH imbalance is the leading cause of acne.
On the other hand, coconut oil has powerful medicinal, moisturizing and antibacterial properties which effectively nourish, condition the skin and reduce the skin’s blemishes.
Baking Soda and Coconut Oil Deep Cleanser
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon of aluminum- free baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons of organic extra-virgin coconut oil
Method of preparation:
In a small bowl, mix the ingredients in order to prepare a paste. Apply the paste on your skin and gently massage in circular motion. Then, leave it to act for 5 minutes. here.
Afterward, wash it off with warm water, and massage once more during rinsing. As the coconut oil deeply hydrates the skin, you need not to apply a moisturizing cream

Prophet challenges lions to a fight, to prove God's power and almost died

A Zion Christian Church prophet who was filled with the Holy Spirit and thought the Lord wanted to use him to show His power over animals, recently challenged a pride of lions to a duel in the Kruger National Park.

Pretoria based man of God, Prophet Alec Ndiwane was with members of of his church in the Kruger National Park where they had gone sightseeing when he suddenly went into a trance and started to speak in tongues. Ahead of them were the lions busy eating their impala.

Prophet Ndiwane must have thought he was the biblical Samsom or Daniel as he opened the car door and charged towards the lions. On seeing the man running towards them, the abandoned their food and ran towards the prophet.

Ndiwane immediately came to his senses when he saw the predators. He turned and ran for his life. But before he could safely reach the confines of the car, one lion had snapped its paws on him causing serious damage to his buttocks. He was saved by the game ranger who fired shots into the air with his gun to scare the lions away.

The injuries the prophet sustained was so severe that he had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

"I don't know what came over me," Prophet Ndiwane confessed,"I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show His power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth?" he asked.

The Problem With Rationalizing in Relationships

A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences. (Proverbs 22:3)
As a survivor of domestic abuse, people often wonder why I (or other victims) stay in abusive relationships. All I can tell you, is there are as many reasons as there are stars in the sky- there is no simple answer.
I am certain we all have stayed in a relationship longer than we should have at some point in our lives. Despite our partner being abusive, having drug or alcohol addiction’s, infidelities, or was simply not as committed as we were…we have all made decisions to stay longer than we should have…all-the-while knowing we deserved better. When I share my story of domestic abuse, the look on people’s faces goes from shock…to a look of confusion as they mentally attempt to analyze the “why” and ”how” someone that once loved me, could commit such a heinous act.  I have had people ask me, “What did you do to make him act like that?”  or even “was he drinking? “(As if, there must be a reason to explain his behavior).
Long before my ex became physically abusive, he was emotionally and psychologically abusive. It was subtle at first, little things like shifting blame on me, falsely accusing me, to being insulting in front of others.
I remember rationalizing his behavior…as it made it easier for me to accept his actions…, which ultimately validated me staying.
Rationalization means starting with a conclusion, and then trying to work backwards to prop it up. We as humans have a tendency to take negative things and spin them until they have a positive meaning. I found ways to convince myself that there was a reason for his behavior; he was under stress, he was mourning the loss of his mother, it was my fault because I was pregnant & hormonal.
For example, let us say your boyfriend is giving you every indication that he is losing feelings and wants to break off your relationship. However, you are so terrified of losing him… that you seek out every bit of “evidence” you can find, to convince yourself that he still loves you and wants to be with you forever; instead of seeing his actions…you begin to rationalize.
You spin his negative statements until they have positive meaning — you blow the tiniest hint of a semi-pleasurable response from him vastly out of proportion — and that which you cannot spin or inflate, you evade. You concoct a “reason” for everything: he’s tired, he’s sick, he’s “not himself,” he’s under stress, and will soon be back to normal. Nothing in your method is geared toward understanding the facts of reality…but specifically avoiding the one fact that you cannot bear to accept: that your relationship just may be irrevocably doomed.
A person who is rationalizing is not genuinely motivated to discover the truth, but to justify their feelings. Rationalization looks not at reality, but at what one wants to be true. It means the sin of living inside your own head; confusing the “I wish” with the “it is.” read here.
Instead of seeing a person and their actions at face value…we rationalize all the signs and red flags. We have to learn to see a person for who they really are… and not who we want them to be.  We tell ourselves we just need to try to convince our partner we are committed to them, when the truth is we are trying to convince ourselves to stay.

Truth About Self Hatred and Low Self-Esteem

“I was teased growing up,” I began.  “For three years, male and female tweens talked about the size of my nose, the color of my skin, my skinny legs, and non existent breast,” I continued.  Initially, I had no intentions of divulging my adolescent tale of woe with the fourth and fifth grade mentees, but I deemed it necessary.
Just before my comments the girls viewed a PowerPoint presentation of women thought of as beautiful:  Beyonce, Rihanna, Ciara, and then Lupita Nyong’o.  The immediate response to Lupita’s image was one of disdain. She was dark and her hair was short.
“She’s bald headed,” one said.  Another described her as, “Black.” Even though her features mirrored several of the girls in the room, she was harshly criticized.  Before I knew it an indignation rose in me.  I had to speak.Even though I am grown, and old enough to know better, sometimes the lessons I learned in my youth are difficult to overcome.  What I learned was that the “fearfully and wonderfully made” me needed some work done in order to measure up.  This perspective was impacted by  society’s dominant images, the taunting of children who didn’t understand the ramifications of their actions, and the lack of affirmation I received from my father.
I had to speak because I knew somewhere in that crowd of estrogen was a girl who felt just as I did when I was her age.  She needed an advocate, someone to stand up and say you are beautiful.  She needed someone to teach her how to love herself.
The effects of self hatred and low self-esteem are subtle: slowly infiltrating our psyche until we don’t even notice it.  Constantly, we are bombarded with a barrage of images dictating what beauty is and is not. Air brushed women with hair and wardrobe stylist, personal makeup artist and plastic surgery are touted as the world’s standard of beauty.  And I’ll be the first to say I have believed the lie, often enduring a torture filled regiment of hair straightening, face painting, eyebrow plucking, and spanx (need I say more).
I do this in an attempt to reach the ever rising beauty bar.  If I didn’t straighten, paint, pluck or squeeze my appearance would be drastically different.  In my purest state I’d have bushy eyebrows, uneven skin, a protruding belly, and a rather large afro.  This image will never meet the societal standard of beauty, but it does meet God’s.
I know this, and like a good Christian woman I am quick to quote Psalm 139: 14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”  But yet, if I’m honest, I periodically continue the detrimental habit of self hatred as I look in the mirror sizing myself up to images super glued to my brain.
As I approach 40 I have yet to hear my earthly father tell me that I am beautiful.  And as much as the little girl in me longs to hear him say it, the adult woman I’ve become knows I must embrace the truth about my beauty from the words of my heavenly father.
I am a handmade one-of-a-kind original creation of God himself.  There are no defects, imperfections, or mistakes in his eyes.  God, a lover of diversity intentionally, created me and you. read here
We are wanted and have a value that far outweighs the physical.  So however you see yourself today: big nose, flat chest, round stomach, top heavy, splotchy skin, short, tall, skinny, fat, peach, tan, brown or caramel, know that you are loved by your Creator. When He looks at you, what He sees is beautiful.
